National Institute of Ocean Technology - Technician Grade - A - Fitter - Electrician

National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, a technical arm of the Ministry of  Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, is functioning with broad objectives of promoting technology development in various mission mode activities in Ocean Engineering and Ocean Resource utilisation.

National Institute of Ocean Technology proposes to engage Technicians  Grade – A -  Fitter / Electrician on Regular basis. Further details like qualification, Pay Scale etc are as follows :


Post Name : Technicians Grade ‘A’

Total No. of Posts : 02 UR (Electrician – 01 ; Fitter – 01)

Scale of Pay : PB-1–Rs.5,200 – 20,200 + 1900.

Educational Qualification : Pass in (i) X Class (Secondary / Metric) of a recognized board and (ii) ITI course approved by National Council for Vocational Training or equivalent recognized Institutions in the Trades “Fitter” OR “Electrician”   2. Basic knowledge of computer.

Age Limit : 28 years

Mode of Selection : Out of the shortlisted candidates called, only those who pass in the Trade Test will be eligible for attending the interview.

NOTE : Outstation candidates called for Trade Test/Interview will be reimbursed travel expenses  limited to return sleeper class railway fare by the shortest route between the place of residence  and Chennai, subject to production of tickets.

The candidate has to take a print out of this application containing the Registration Number, sign/affix a latest colour photograph at the space(s) provided  and send the same to the following address ‘The Director, National Institute of Ocean Technology, Velachery – Tambaram Main Road, Pallikaranai, Chennai 600 100, India’.

The Hard copy should contain the following Documents : i) Qualification certificates, ii) Mark List, iii) Experience certificates, serially numbered in the order generated in online  submission. The Advt. No., Post No., Post Name and Discipline should be clearly superscribed on the envelope containing the hard copy of online application.
