UPSC - Indian Statistical Service - Indian Economic Service - 12/2012-IES/ISS - Dt. 01-09-2012
A combined competitive examination for recruitment to Grade IV of the Services mentioned in Para 2 below will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing from 1st December 2012 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation in the Gazette of India dated the 1st September, 2012. The examination will be held at the following centres :
Centres of the Examination : AHMEDABAD, ALLAHABAD, BANGALORE, BHOPAL, CHANDIGARH, CHENNAI, CUTTACK, DELHI, DISPUR, JAIPUR, JAMMU, KOLKATA, LUCKNOW, MUMBAI, PATNA, SHILLONG, SHIMLA , THIRUVANANHYDERABAD, THAPURAM.
The Services to which recruitment is to be made on the results of this examination and the approximate number of vacancies in Grade IV of the Services are given below :
1. Indian Economic Service – 31 Posts
2. Indian Statistical Service – 29 Posts
Age Limit : 21 - years as on 1st August, 2012, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August, 1991. (Relaxable by - 5 years of SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PH Candidates)
Educational Qualification : For Indian Economic Service - Postgraduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics and For Indian Statistical Service : Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or a foreign university approved by the Central Govt. from time to time.
Application fee : Rs.200/- (Women/PH/SC/ST are exempt from paying the fee) Payment may be made in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.
